“Genealogy begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation, and in many cases turns into an obsession.” - Francis Thompson

Why Join the Genealogical Association of Sacramento?

Our mission is to encourage the research, publication, and preservation of genealogical and historical material; to instruct and lend assistance to the membership and the public in modern methods of research. We accomplish this by meeting regularly, and by sponsoring workshops, lectures, field trips and other educational activities. There is usually something for everyone at our meetings, from beginners to experienced genealogists.

Members receive a monthly newsletter, gain access to our GenSocSoup subscription, (a collection of pre-recorded webinars on genealogy topics), as well as an archive of speaker handouts from presenters at our monthly meetings and the newsletter archive. When permitted by the guest speaker, members may also download an advance copy of the handouts for upcoming presentations.

Becoming a member is easy: Download the Membership Application form, and either mail it with your dues to the address on the form, or bring it with your payment to the next monthly meeting.
